Maria Kaimaklioti is a Cypriot music industry professional and cultural producer. She founded SCALA Music & Sound Hub to support artists and cultural organisers in realising their creative projects.
She works with music promoters, venues, bands, cultural organisations in Cyprus and organises workshops for artists. Main areas of focus include artist development, mentorship and export of Cypriot artists, managing PR and communications projects, and using music ecosystems to develop a community’s cultural identity.
She holds an MSt in Musicology from Oxford University, focusing on identity in Cyprus, and approaches to gender equality in blues & rock journalism and PR. She joined Louvana Records until 2022, managing marketing, coordination, and international development for projects such as label releases and Fengaros Festival, and advised on best practices for the recording sector, EU exchanges, partnerships, and conferences. She wrote and designed the label’s first EU projects (Eurotoire and Eurotoire: Equaliser) as a means of igniting Cyprus’ transnational collaborations, and introducing more equity principles to the company. She facilitated the first music working groups for Larnaka’s 2030 European Capital of Culture candidacy. In 2023 she co-founded Live Incubator with SPOT Festival (DK) for a new generation of live music professionals in Europe.
